I recently began redesigning a creative portfolio site for a client who wanted a strong visual identity. The homepage hero section needed a headline that would immediately grab attention. I dropped in Cuatro Zombies as the main header font. The all-caps, bold structure gave the title a punchy, modern feel. It’s the kind of font that doesn’t just sit on the page—it performs. The uppercase-only style adds an energetic edge, and the sharp, clean lines made it stand out beautifully over a subtle background image.
As a web designer, I’m always cautious about readability, especially on mobile. But in this case, Cuatro Zombies held its own. At larger sizes, it’s striking without being overwhelming. The spacing between letters is generous, which helps maintain clarity even on smaller screens. It’s not a font for every element, but for that hero headline? Perfect.
Using Cuatro Zombies in Different Web Layouts

It gave the banner a stylish edge without sacrificing legibility. When placed over a light image overlay, the text remained crisp and readable.
It’s important to note, though, that Cuatro Zombies isn’t ideal for every part of a website. I tried using it for body copy in a blog redesign, and it quickly became too much. The decorative nature of the font makes it harder to read in longer paragraphs. It’s definitely best suited for short, impactful text—think headlines, buttons, and logo treatments.

From a design standpoint, the font includes a few alternate characters and ligatures, which can be nice for adding subtle personality to logos or branded headers. However, these features aren’t essential for most web use cases. What matters most is how the font renders across browsers and devices, and in that regard, Cuatro Zombies performed consistently well.
